Silicon-barium inoculant is a kind of agent that can promote graphitization, reduce the trend of white cast iron, improve the morphology and distribution of graphite, increase the number of eutectic groups, and improve the matrix structure. It has a good effect for a short time after inoculation (about 5-8 minutes). It is mainly suitable for ordinary castings or for subsequent instant inoculation in various situations.

The silicon-barium inoculant is mainly used for the inoculation of ductile iron and gray cast iron. The silicon-barium inoculant greatly enlarges the graphitization core, purifies graphite, promotes the production of type A graphite in gray cast iron parts, and increases strength. For ductile iron parts, it can make the graphite in ductile iron thin and round, and improve the degree of spheroidization. It has a strong ability to resist recession and prevent the associated spheroidization recession. It has low sensitivity to wall thickness and uniform structure. Greatly reduces the trend of white cast iron, reduces the relative hardness, and improves the cutting properties of castings. It is used as a inoculant and spheroidizer in the iron foundry industry.
