Ferro-vanadium can be used to give strength to various types of steel and reduce the likelihood of rusting. Most ferro-vanadium is produced in China. Vanadium works better as a reinforcing agent when it has more nitrogen.

Application: When added to steel, it makes it more resistant to alkalis (basic substances) as well as sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. Vanadium is used to produce tool steel, aircraft steel, high-strength and high-strength steel, spring steel, railway and oil pipeline steel.
