What is ferromolybdenum

An iron alloy composed of molybdenum and iron, generally containing 50-60% molybdenum, used as an alloy additive in steelmaking. Molybdenum iron is an alloy of molybdenum and iron. Its main use is as an additive for molybdenum element in steelmaking. Adding molybdenum to steel can give it a uniform fine-grained structure and improve its hardenability, which is beneficial for eliminating tempering brittleness. In high-speed steel, molybdenum can replace a portion of tungsten. Molybdenum, together with other alloying elements, is widely used in the production of stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, acid resistant steel, tool steel, as well as alloys with special physical properties. Molybdenum added to cast iron can increase its strength and wear resistance.
