The density of Fe-Si depends on its Si content and decreases as the Si content increases. The density of some grades of Fe-Si is (i) about 5.15 grams per cubic centimetre (g/cc) at 45% Si, (ii) 3.5 g/cc at 75% Si and (iii) 2.4 g/cc at 90% Si. The boiling point of Si is 2355 degrees C. Fe-Si is known to have good abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. It has high magnetism, which allows its magnetic reduction.
