45 Ferrosilicon Inoculant Description
Ferrosilicon 45 inoculant is more readily soluble and absorbable than conventional inoculant, which can facilitate the transformation of grey cast iron into an optimum graphite ball, increase the degree of spheroidisation and markedly reduce the tendency to form white whiskers. Ferrosilicon has a relatively low melting point (about 1300°C), which facilitates its melting and absorption during the inoculation process, and results in minimal slag surfacing.
