Ferrovanadium is typically produced through two main methods:
Aluminothermic Reduction – Vanadium pentoxide (V₂O₅) is reduced by aluminum in the presence of iron, resulting in ferrovanadium with different vanadium contents (commonly 50–80%).
Silicothermic Reduction – Vanadium oxides are reduced by silicon in an electric furnace, yielding ferrovanadium alloys suitable for specific applications.
After reduction, the molten alloy is refined, cast, crushed, and screened into desired sizes. Quality control plays a vital role in ensuring the stability of the final product, as ferrovanadium is used in demanding industries such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and energy.
