Ferrosilicon 45% Fine Size Description
Alloys with 50-60% silicon are not produced, since when contaminated with aluminum, phosphorus or moisture, they are destroyed, emitting toxic fumes. To obtain the desired concentration of silicon, crushed carbon steel chips are also added to the alloy.
The finished product can be supplied in pieces (up to 25 kg), castings (up to 45 kg), as well as in the form of sieved crushed particles. If long-term storage is required, ferrosilicon is produced in ingots with a thickness of 100 mm for single-layer casting and 150 mm for double-layer casting. Ferrosilicon should not be contaminated with any other materials, except for individual inclusions of welding sand, traces of materials from adhesion and slag film.
