Cast Iron Ferro Silicon 65 Description
Ferrosilicon FeSi65 is a critical component in ore processing due to its role in steel production. It is a primary ferroalloy that is used in the production of other ferroalloys.
The chemical composition of ferrosilicon consists of iron and silicon. In metallurgy, ferrosilicon serves as a deoxidizing and alloying additive for a variety of steels, including cast iron, electrical steel, spring steel, tool steel, structural steel, and corrosion-resistant steels. It improves the physical properties of these steels, such as hardness, fluidity, elasticity, oxidation and tear resistance. In addition, it reduces electrical losses. Ferrosilicon production consists of smelting an ore charge containing at least 95% of silicon oxide, with a minimum amount of slag impurities and a low-ash reducing agent. The resulting ferrosilicon has a high electrical resistance and does not contain volatile compounds.
