Ferro Silicon 65
Ferro silicon 65 is an iron-silicon alloy. It is used as a deoxidizer in steel production. This means it reacts with oxygen to form stable silicate slag. The alloy also helps to make cast iron, by encouraging the formation of graphite and improving how strong it is. The exothermic reaction (heat production) during steelmaking helps to maintain the temperature in ladles. The size of the particles (usually 0-10 mm, 10-50 mm or 50-100 mm) affects how quickly they dissolve and how well they work in different situations.
