Ferrovanadium FV60 Description
Ferrovanadium is an alloy containing 35-60 vanadium, 1-3% silicon, 0.5-1.5% aluminum and iron.

Ferrovanadium is produced in several ways:
silicothermal (silico-aluminothermic): in the smelting process, vanadium pentoxide is first obtained from the ore, which is then reduced in an electric furnace using silicon or aluminum;
The hydrometallurgical method is used when the vanadium content in titanium-magnesium ore is high. The iron-vanadium concentrate is rounded or subjected to agglomeration to obtain vanadium pentoxide;
In the pyrometallurgical process, vanadium is obtained from cast iron formed after the agglomeration of iron-vanadium concentrate. Cast iron is oxidized in a converter, obtaining slag with 10% vanadium.
