1, iron in ferrosilicon is derived from steel chips in the charge. According to the quality of ferrosilicon requirements, smelting is only allowed to use ordinary carbon steel chips, not allowed to use alloy steel chips, such as stainless steel, chromium-containing high, high manganese steel, manganese-containing high, and so on. Can not use pig iron chips, because of their high phosphorus content. Smelting ferrosilicon can not use non-ferrous metal chips such as copper, aluminum and so on.
2, smelting ferrosilicon coke is the main raw material, it is smelting ferrosilicon reductant, so the higher the content of fixed carbon within the coke as good as possible, while requiring coke ash to be low.
3, silica is one of the basic raw materials for smelting ferrosilicon, in order to reduce the amount of slag, reduce power consumption, and improve production, the silica content of silica has certain requirements. And silica should have certain thermal stability under high temperatures.
