how to judge the quality of spheroidizer

1. The affinity of the spheroidizing element for sulfur, oxygen and other elements in molten iron is a key factor in this process. The affinity is strong, resulting in the formation of compounds that act as a foreign core in the process of solidification of molten iron. These include rare earth, magnesium, calcium, and other spheroidizing elements.
2. The ability of the spheroidizing element to change the morphology of graphite from flake to spherical.
3. The density and boiling point of spheroidizing substance are lower than that of molten iron. The low density allows the material to float in molten iron, while the low boiling point allows the material to be processed at a lower temperature. At processing temperature, magnesium can turn into a gas and exhibit a self-excitation effect, thereby enhancing the spheroidization effect.
4. The magnesium oxide content of the spheroidizing agent is less than about 7% of the magnesium content.
5. The spheroidizing substance is dense, does not contain segregation, shrinkage cavities and shrinkage, and is not powdery.
6. The particle size distribution of the spheroidizing agent is homogeneous, there is no powdery alloy, blunt and multi-deformed particles are preferred.
