Ferro Silicon FeSi 75 Description
75% Ferrosilicon is a ferroalloy, which is defined as an alloy of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is used primarily as a deoxidizer and alloying agent in the production of steel and cast iron. The addition of silicon to iron and steel improves the mechanical properties and heat resistance of these materials. In addition, it improves their magnetic properties and corrosion resistance.
In the production of cast iron, FeSi helps control the carbon content, thereby affecting the hardness and strength of the final product. Ferrosilicon 72 is also used in the manufacture of various other silicon-based alloys and compounds.
