Ferrovanadium contains 35 to 45% metallic vanadium. Other components are silicon (1-3%), aluminum (0.5-1.5%), and the rest is iron and other impurities. Ferrovanadium is obtained by smelting vanadium pentoxide (85-95%) during the processing of concentrates. It is used to produce other metals. Other products obtained in the production of ferrovanadium are vanadium with a rich iron content (80% of the product), as well as silicovanadium and metallic vanadium. A common production method is aluminothermic.
