99.9 Electrolytic Manganese Flakes Description
Electrochemical manganese is an elemental metal that is produced by extracting manganese from ores using acid. The resulting manganese salts are sent to an electrolysis chamber, where the metal is separated into its component parts. Electrochemical manganese is similar to iron but has an irregular shape and a hard, brittle texture. One side is light, and the other is rough, from silvery-white to brown. After being processed into a powder, it takes on a silvery-gray color. It can be damaged by air, dissolve, and replace hydrogen when it comes into contact with dilute acid. At a temperature slightly above room temperature, it can split water and release hydrogen gases.
