1QC Ladle Slide Gate Plate Description
Slide gate refractories are used in ladles to control the flow of liquid steel from the ladle to the tundish. These special refractories should be handled with care, as failure could cause serious problems. Slide gate plates are available in a number of different types to best match the grades of steel and the chemical and mineralogical make-up of the slag. Their specific physical, chemical and mineralogical compositions are made from materials that are highly pure to ensure they can resist corrosion and erosion, and to ensure they can deal with sudden changes in temperature. ZHENAN supplies nozzles in a variety of different compositions that best suit the operating conditions of the steel ladle. These include nozzles made from alumina (with or without carbon additions, or zirconia additions) that can resist the chemical make-up of the slag.
