Ferrotitanium Alloy Description
FeTi is obtained by aluminothermal reduction or smelted by induction furnace method. It is produced using titanium scrap and low-carbon iron scrap.
Steel mills use FeTi 40 as stabilizers to prevent the formation of chromium carbide at grain boundaries. This can improve the ductility of carbon steels, thereby increasing their versatility. It is also used in the production of mild steel to make steel plates. Foundry workers use FeTi to alloy molten metal with titanium to give it superior strength and quality without disturbing other ratios.
