Ferrosilicon Lump FS45 Description
Ferrosilicon 45 is used as a deoxidizing and alloying additive in smelting electrical, spring-spring, corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant steels, structural and tool steels, alloying and modifying cast iron. Ferrosilicon 45 is produced in arc ferroalloy furnaces by reduction of silicon from quartzite with carbon coke.

Supply of Ferrosilicon 45
Ferrosilicon is a type of iron alloy. The main components are iron and silicon. The ferrosilicon production process is based on the reduction of silicon dioxide and is widely used in metallurgy as a deoxidizing and alloying additive in the smelting of electrical, spring, corrosion-resistant, and heat-resistant steels. Ferrosilicon is also used to deoxidize all low-carbon steels and to alloy some structural and transformer steels. Low-silicon ferrosilicon is used for the primary deoxidation of steel in the furnace, high-silicon ferrosilicon is used for deoxidizing and alloying steel in the furnace and ladle, for deoxidizing slag in the electric steel melting process and for the production of low-carbon ferroalloys.
Ferrosilicon is supplied as lumps (weighing up to 25 kg), ingots (weighing up to 45 kg), and crushed and sieved pellets. The size of pellets is sieved through a steel sieve with square holes.
