Carbon cored wire is a kind of alloy cored wire that is used in the steelmaking industry. It is to crush high-purity carbon raiser that needs to be added to the molten steel into certain particle sizes, then wraps them in a steel strip.

Diameter is 13mm ± 0.5mm and carbon purity is 90%, 95% to 98%. Customized specifications are also accepted. The thickness of the steel strip (strip) is 0.3-0.6mm. Our core wire machines, produced using new technology, are tightly packed with no spillage or leakage. Uniformly filled with toner and packaged in waterproof plastic and steel frame. Water absorption is more than 90% and moisture is less than 0.5%. It can greatly reduce the production cost of steel making.

Application

The use of alloy core wires prevents impurities from entering the molten steel: Some of the additives used in steelmaking (calcium metal, carbon enhancers) have a light specific gravity and a low melting point. When added to the molten steel in lump form, air bubbles are easily generated. When alloy core wire is used, the material can enter the bottom of the molten steel.

Carbon plays very important role for keeping the steel physical and chemical properties. It is mainly for keeping the steel strength. In reverse, Carbon adding reduces the steel toughness and weldability. Carbon content in the steel after smelting and refining is required to maintain around certain value. Feed Carbon cored wire can reach the final carbon content required by the steel. Carbon has low density and it is easy to suspend on the steel slag surface and thus burning waste happens. Carbon cored wire can be fed to the ladle bottom to avoid material waste and it can be dissolved in steel quickly and uniformly. The cored wire can also be used for components minor adjustment of low carbon steel.

Packing & Delivery
